About Me

Frank Herring is recognized as one of Florida’s most successful real estate development and investment professionals. As such, he brings strategic vision, invaluable experience, and unmatched contacts to The Herring Group. Herring currently leads the company’s development, investment, and acquisition efforts in Florida as well as key growth markets throughout the southeastern United States.

Prior to forming The Herring Group, he was President of St. Joe Company’s commercial division. There he oversaw all commercial real estate activities, including multi-family housing, for Florida’s largest real estate operating company. Prior to St. Joe Company, he served in numerous leadership positions at Trammell Crow Company and Faison. During an eighteen-year relationship with Faison and predecessor companies, he served as Senior Vice President and Partner for Florida operations. Following the acquisition of Faison by Trammell Crow Company in 1998 he was appointed Managing Director for Trammell Crow Company operations in North Florida. In those capacities, he oversaw the development, management, and leasing of numerous Florida properties, eventually totaling $1.2 billion in value.

Herring graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies. He is a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and serves on the ULI National Office Development Council. Herring is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Hamilton Holt School at Rollins College. He has previously served on numerous business and civic boards including The Codina Group of Miami and The Orlando Museum of Art. He recently completed a term as Chairman of the Board for the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.
